Our amazing team has been a well-kept secret at AMT, but we think it’s high time we changed that!
Meet Andrew Cooper – AMT’s Hull Department lead, a role that spans Naval Architecture, Structural Design and Outfitting.
Andrew has been at AMT for nearly 21 years after starting his career designing commercial fishing vessels. Since joining AMT, Andrew has had the opportunity to build his skills and experience across numerous projects and naval platforms covering Defence, Naval Ship Design, Systems Engineering, System Safety and Production Engineering.
His job has taken him far and wide to Australian and international waterfronts, including Germany, Sweden, New Zealand and Canada.
In 2018, Andrew stepped up to a Managerial role. His depth of experience provides a strong foundation for his team of engineers and draftspeople, guiding them as they work on an ever-expanding range of ships.
AMT takes great pride in developing our staff through all career stages, whether through internal and external training, immersion in cross-discipline engineering teams or guiding them through stretch targets.
Andrew’s team recently shared their skills and experience through an in-house presentation outlining their approach to a now-completed project for a naval platform’s global strength assessment and fatigue analysis.
Team ethos is a core principle of AMT’s success. We believe that group support, mentoring, trust and open communication directly correlate with consistent, high-quality output for solutions focused on the best outcomes for our customers. We want to recognise Andrew for constantly driving that principle and leading an exceptional team!
