In-Service Design
and Engineering
AMT’s ship design and systems integration capabilities and experience directly apply to our design and engineering services to in-service ships in Australia and our region. This has been a continuous service for over 30 years across a wide range of fleet assets.
Our services are directed at any level, from equipment issues and obsolescence to the resolution of significant technical issues to overall system redesign and mid-life capability upgrades.
Our role in the Anzac frigate design has led to us providing long-term in-service engineering for both the RAN and RNZN ships. We also provide expertise and support for all other major ships, including the Canberra Class LHDs, the Cairns-based Specialist Ships, the range of Patrol Vessels, and now growing into support to the Hobart Class DDGs.

The Leeuwin Class Hydrographic Ships (HS) ships are equipped with two Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants for the purpose of producing potable water to replenish the potable water storage tanks.
CASE STUDY
The Anzac Limiting Displacement Project was an in-depth investigation into the structural adequacy at the expected End of Life limiting displacement of the Anzac Class Frigates. The study assessed the longitudinal strength and fatigue life for the vessels to determine the effects of increasing the displacement and service life.
