At AMT we pride ourselves on our long history of naval ship design, with our beginnings in the years before the most successful ANZAC Frigate Program. Back then we were Blohm + Voss Australia, where we played a key role in the lobbying of the MEKO 200 ANZ design to the Royal Australian Navy and Royal New Zealand Navy. A unique element of that phase was the 1:100 scale ship model used dynamically to demonstrate the system flexibility, through modularity, of the Blohm + Voss design.
Many years later, we are very pleased to have found the perfect home for the ship model in the Seaworks Foundation Museum in Williamstown, amidst the fine company of the many ships built in the Williamstown shipyard.
AMT’s Managing Director, Rob Dunbar, recently handed the model over to Glenn Jones, Executive Officer of the Seaworks Maritime Precinct. We are thrilled it will be preserved and displayed at the museum as a piece of maritime history!
