The Cape Class Patrol Boat (CCPB) Project involved the acquisition of eight vessels to replace the Bay Class Patrol Boats with greater range, endurance and flexibility. The project required close co-operation with the shipbuilder to ensure the appropriate application of requirement sets and technical solutions to provide a cost-effective capability.

Specific activity conducted by AMT under the Maritime Engineering Services contract included redevelopment of the Function and Performance Specification for RFT release and performing tender evaluation support activities.AMT also performed a comprehensive design review, has undertaken a multitude of technical studies and provided acceptance support for the Cclass into service.

The success of AMT’s role in the CCPB project was extended into ABF’s next project where AMT performed a similar role for the acquisition of the Long-Term Ashmore Capability (LTAC) ABFC Thaiyak by providing design review and engineering support for the project.

AMT also provided technical support when ABF required a new capability for border and fishery protection operations. The Southern Ocean Maritime Patrol And Response Capability
(SOMPARC) project involved the lease of a standard commercial vessel modified to meet the unique operational requirements of ABF. AMT provided tender evaluation, engineering investigations, design review and certification support for the modification of Skandi Bergen to Ocean Protector.

The ABF maritime projects involved a challenging mix of a commercial regulatory framework and para-military operations. This requires the appropriate application of equirement sets and technical solutions to provide a cost-effective capability. AMT was engaged with its overall ship design capability ideally suited to this customer support role.
