Hull Systems Manager


Andrew leads AMT’s Hull Department, covering Naval Architecture, Structural Design and Outfitting. He has been at AMT for over 21 years, building his skills in Naval Ship Design, Systems Engineering, System Safety and Production Engineering across a range of projects and naval platforms. When he’s not helping build ships, he’s at home building furniture.

Barry Hodder

Barry Hodder

Mechanical Systems Manager


Barry started his career working on the FFGs and ANZAC Ship Project in 1989, before spending 11 years in the automotive industry and returning to ship design and engineering when he joined AMT in 2010 and now leads the Mechanical team. Barry balances his work with a creative side as a long-time trombonist and overall big band and music lover.

Iain has over 20 years of experience in the Marine/Naval Design Industry and boasts a range of skills across the many and varied naval vessel systems. On top of his technical expertise, Iain enjoys working closely with team members, clients and stakeholders. His passion for ships started as a child, sailing around tropical Queensland with his family.

Rick Hunt

Combat Systems Manager


After 20 years in the Navy, Rick joined AMT and has held the role of Combat Systems Manager for the last 22 years. He has worked in all phases of ship design, and is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. When he’s not working or cycling, he’s participating in backyard netball practice with his kids.
